Weathering The Storm: Week 7 PLL Sunday Predictions

Saturday night in Colorado Springs saw some serious thunder and lightning and I’m not talking about just on the field. Games that were supposed to start at 7 o’clock did not get going until 10. Luckily for us both of our picks for the Archers game were a success. As I am typing this, the Whipsnakes and Waterdogs are underway in their rescheduled game, so we will see how that plays out. We got two more games to end this lovely weekend so with that being said let’s get to it.

8/1 2:00 PM ET Chrome (-130) (-1.5) vs Chaos (+110) (+1.5) (O/U 22.5)

On Friday the Chrome came up short in a 19-10 loss to the Atlas. Atlas seemed in control of the game from the opening whistle and Chrome just could not get back into it. This puts the chrome at the bottom of the league standings and means that they potentially might be the team that gets left out of the playoffs. The bright spot is that Dylan Molloy is as advertised. He finished the night with 2 goals and 2 assists. I think that the Chrome will be more comfortable with him in the lineup for this match up against Chaos. The Chaos are also a team that still has yet to clinch a playoff spot. In their last game before the All-Star break the Chaos also fell victim to the Atlas, losing 16-10. They have shown signs of being a good team in the two wins that they have but they are simply too inconsistent. I feel that this game could go either way. Something tells me that it will be a low scoring one given that these teams are both very deliberate and they’re all offensive attacks. For this game I am going with the Chrome ML. They are a gritty team and will play till the last whistle. They are on the outside of the playoff situation looking in and they’re going to throw everything they can at the Chaos.

The Pick: Chrome -130

8/1 4:45 PM ET Atlas (-160) (-1.5) vs Cannons (+140) (+1.5) (O/U 25.5)

It is safe to say that the Atlas are absolutely rolling right now. They are coming into this game off of their win against the Chrome. Their offense has found serious chemistry and fire power. They honestly have one of the sneaky best attack lines in the entire league. They have the perfect balance of Eric Law behind the cage while Jeff Teat and Jake Carraway man the right and left wings. In my opinion the Cannons are the best team in the league with a losing record. Their last game was a one goal win against the Archers. They have come so close against the upper level of teams in the league but have unfortunately come short. Paul Rabil is having a season that we haven’t seen him have in a long time. He is producing at levels we thought we might not see again out of him.I think that they will end up clinching one of the last spots in the playoffs but something tells me they won’t be doing it today. The last time the Cannons played the Atlas they lost in a one goal game 18-17. I can definitely see an ending in a close one but I have to go with the hot hand in the Atlas. I am predicting the Atlas to win this in a one or two goal game so the play here is to take the Atlas ML.

The Pick: Atlas -160
