UFC Vegas 31: Fight Night Picks and Predictions

Hungover and pressed for time, so this one will be short. Just giving my favorite picks off this card. Let’s stack some bread.

Daniel Rodriguez -320 vs Preston Parsons +250

D-Rod is almost a lock here, and a good pick despite those odds. He won his last fight over Mike Perry by decision, and has a few knockouts and submissions on his record. Whatever your slip looks like tonight, (here’s a good non-UFC pick) Daniel Rodriguez ML is a great boost for your parlay, and I’ll be adding him to mine

D-Rod

Gabriel Benitez -165 vs Billy Quarantillo +145

Billy Q is a high value pick tonight. He’s a really complete fighter, boasting high level grappling at all levels, and a very solid striking game. He’s also tough as nails and A LOT of fun to watch. Taking Billy Q straight at +145 here for a unit, and if I had to pick a method of victory, I’d say most likely by way of decision. Posting his highlights below, if you haven’t heard of him before, now is your chance. His fight against Spike Carlyle is one of my favorites, Carlyle thought he had a KO and walked away, and Billy Q jumped back up and smothered him for the W.

Marion Reneau +120 vs Miesha Tate -140

I hate taking a fighter after a long time off, but I love Miesha Tate. She was a pioneer for women in the sport, and I loved watching her battles with Ronda Rousey while I was in high school. I’m confident in her ability to come back, especially because she’s been training at Xtreme Couture. She’s extremely driven to win, and is leaving a well paying position as Vice President of One Championship to do so. She’s still young, at only 34 years old, ten years younger than the woman she’s fighting tonight. Marion Reneau is 44 and this is her last fight on her UFC contract. In my opinion, this was a setup by the matchmakers for Miesha to win in dominant fashion, cementing her comeback. Taking Miesha Tate straight, as well as adding her to my parlay. The only way she loses tonight is due to time off, but that shouldn’t be a factor tonight.

Islam Makhachev -720 vs Thiago Moises +500

Take a look at those odds. Vegas doesn’t want us making easy money off this fight. Everyone knows it will be total domination. Islam trains with Khabib and has done his best to duplicate his style. Add this to your parlay. Depending on how much you stake, it could be an extra couple of dollars, or some big bucks. But Islam is definitely a lock to win, most likely by decision. That’s why I’m adding him to my parlay, as well as taking him to win by decision straight at -130.

My Parlay

Daniel Rodriguez -320

Miesha Tate -140

Islam Makhachev-720

This comes out to +156.
