UFC Fight Night: Santos vs Ankalaev Betting Guide
Most of the time, the Fight Night card following a major pay per view like the one we had last week is a pretty dull one. That is not the case tonight. We had a great week last week, going eight for ten on straight bets. The first leg of the parlay went down and I updated my followers what the move was next- and we hit big. So make sure you’re following me on Twitter @pickinKeith for live updates and plays.
Miranda Maverick -320 vs Sabina Mazo +260
Miranda Maverick is the far superior fighter in this matchup, as the lines indicate. It mostly comes down to her ability to take down her opponents with subpar grappling skills and control them, and Mazo’s skills in that realm are nowhere near Maverick’s. Maverick’s good on her feet too and has solid striking. I expect this fight to look very similar to last week’s main event with Maverick dragging Mazo into deep waters, but not creating as much damage as she could, and winning by a 30-27 decision. Hence, my pick for this fight is Miranda Maverick by decision at -120.
Alex Periera -200 vs Bruno Silva +168
As we all know by now, Alex Periera was the first and only man to hand Izzy a professional loss by knockout in kickboxing. Since being signed by the UFC, he’s had a massive target on his back. He’s got incredible standup game and won his last fight, which was his UFC debut, by a flying knee KO. He’s a bit cocky, but he’s been able to backup the attitude thus far. Bruno Silva is a really solid fighter that has won his last three by KO too, but I foresee him becoming another stepping stone for Periera tonight. My pick for this one is Alex Periera to win by KO/TKO at -140 and will go in my parlay, but I’ll also be taking U1.5 rounds at -180 straight because I respect the power and ability of both men to end things early.
Drew Dober -162 vs Terrence McKinney +136
This is an incredibly difficult fight to pick a winner for. Dober has been in some wars over his years in UFC and Strikeforce, and McKinney is the new kid on the block who’s won his only two UFC fights by KO and rear naked choke. I’m going to take McKinney straight here at +136 because he looks unstoppable and he’s been so active, as this is his third fight in the UFC within a year. Dober hasn’t fought since his war with Brad Riddell last June and took a lot of damage in that bout.
Marlon Moraes +220 vs Song Yadong -270
Marlon Moraes’s chin has been suffering as of late. He’s essentially being used as a highlight reel setup for other fighters right now and can’t help but get knocked out. Song Yadong by KO/TKO at -120 is the pick.
Magomed Ankalaev -620 vs Thiago Santos +460
Thiago Santos looked had a really poor showing in his last bout, which was a loss against Johnny Walker. Magomed Ankalaev has only one loss on his record, and brings with him all of the wresting abilities Russians in MMA are known for. At this point in his career, I cannot see Thiago Santos withstanding 5 rounds of wrestling with Ankalaev. Eventually, Ankalaev will smesh Santos with some good old ground and pound, so I’ve got him to win by TKO at +115.
