UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs Strickland - Picks and Predictions

Back with my three favorite main card picks for tonight’s UFC slate. The main event is definitely going to be an entertaining fight, as is every fight with Sean Strickland, so tune in.

Bryan Battle +120 vs Tresean Gore -142

This fight was supposed to happen after last season of TUF, until Tresean Gore had to step aside due to injury. He was definitely the star of the season. Gore has great hands with lots of power behind them. I like him to win this one easily. I’m taking his money line at -142, as well as to win by KO/TKO at +195.

Brendan Allen -390 vs Sam Alvey +310

Brendan Allen takes this one easily. He‘s ten years Sam Alvey’s junior, and there’s no doubt he’s the better fighter. Sam Alvey is on a five fight losing streak. Alvey doesn’t really have a history of getting knocked out or submitted though, just losing by decision, so I’m taking Brendan Allen to win by points at +195.

Jack Hermansson +175 vs Sean Strickland -210

Sean Strickland is the type of character that thrives in the UFC. A violent maniac inside and out of the octagon with zero off switch. Strickland is only a few good wins away from a title shot against Israel Adesanya, and a dominant performance over Jack Hermansson tonight could bring him that much closer. Strickland’s got a nice one-two boxing combo he throws often, and is definitely more of a volume striker than a knockout artist. He’s got really good defense as well despite a goofy stance and consistently walking down his opponents. Hermansson’s greatest strength is his wrestling, however he just lost a wrestling match to Khamzat Chimaev, and Khamzat and Strickland have been training together a lot wrestling. Strickland’s ground game was already pretty good, but extra help from Khamzat should give him the boost to dominate Jack Hermansson over five rounds. I’m taking Sean Strickland ML in my parlays, and to win by points at +195. (If you’re using FanDuel or a book that provides double chance bets, I’d advise taking Strickland by KO or on points at -175 as well.)
