The Open Championship 2021-Picks and Predictions
This week in golf we have the Open Championship, is probably the most brutal course because of its links style course, where there are no trees along the course, with very deep bunkers.
They torch the inside of the bunkers with a torch, which is pretty sick. There are so many hills and the rough is not normal rough, this rough is filled with weeds that are 3 feet high. Very awkward stances are needed to hit shots. The weather is usually pure shit, with high winds, lots of rain and sometimes even cold. The weather conditions this weekend are going to be 25-40 MPH winds and rain all weekend. The course is designed so that you want to keep the ball low. Lots of players will be hitting balls into the woods and driving irons off the tee box this week and a lot of chip shots that are into the green keeping it low and checking the ball onto the dance floor.
Here are the picks:
Jordan Spieth 20-1: He has been playing better as of late. His game also contours to the course well and he is also do for a big win
Jason Day 70-1: Day is also due for a big win and to get his name back up there. He has fallen off the face of the earth in the last couple years from being the best player in the world for a period of time. If he posts 2 good numbers on Thursday and on moving day he will have a good shot going into the weekend.
Xander Schauffele 16-1: Xander needs a major title next to his name he has come close a good amount of times at such a young age and it would be great to see him win a major this weekend on one of the hardest courses in the world
Dustin Johnson 15-1: DJ is the best in the world right now. He has been shaky as of late but he also has that switch where he can just turn it on whenever he wants and he is pure killer
Sleeper - Henrik Stenson 200-1
