Sunday in Charm City: PLL Week 3 Predictions

Do you miss football? Good thing we’ve got some Sunday PLL action to fill that void. The games thus far this weekend have been non-stop action. Our predictions for this weekend are currently 2-1. Let’s get straight to the picks and keep stacking our bread.

** The PLL games will be broadcast on the NBC group of networks including Peacock TV which involves a subscription. So I will include next to each game where it can be viewed.**

6/26 12:00 PM ET Cannons (-182) (-1.5) vs Atlas (+142) (+1.5) (O/U 22.5) **Peacock TV**

On Friday night the Atlas definitively proved that they can excel. They showed that the intense rebuild and multiple off-season moves were worth it. The Bulls have forged a new identity for themselves and are looking like a well oiled lax machine. If anyone had any doubts before their game with the Whipsnakes, they’ve been shot down. Friday was their coming out party. They came up short in an overtime loss 12-11. They held the lead for a significant amount of time in this game, but unfortunately everybody knew that a Whipsnakes run was coming, and just like a money shot in your favorite adult film, they came right at the very end. Young guns Jake Carraway and Bryan Costabile had a night with 5 points and 3 points respectively. Veteran Eric Law also added 3 points of his own. As I said in the last blog, this weekend was the debut of number one overall pick Jeff Teat. It was clear he was trying to knock some rust off, which is normal, and he finished with 2 assists. The Cannons, in their game last week, also came up short in overtime against the Whips. The one thing these teams have in common is that they are trying to prove themselves to the league, to fans, competitors, and themselves. They both have done a great job in doing so. As for the pick, I am going with Atlas spread (+1.5), because I think that they have a high chance of winning this game. Taking the spread is smart because, as we’ve seen, these games can change hands easily right to the very end.

The Pick: Atlas (+1.5)

6/26 2:45 PM ET Whipsnakes (-435) (-2.5) vs Chrome (+305) (+2.5) (O/U 24.5) **Peacock TV**

For the Whips, their last game showed fans that they are not the superhumans so many thought they were. They looked great (obviously) but they came so close to dropping their game to the Atlas. They got offensive production from multiple players, with former league MVP Matt Rambo leading the charge. He boasted 5 points and the OT game winner. They didn’t look too phased even when they were down. They swarmed the ball like a bunch of savages and made the most out of caused turnovers. We can all agree, it was those extra effort players that were the deciding factor in the contest. Last week, The Chrome dropped their game to the Waterdogs. They are still trying to figure out what changes need to be made while dealing with a few injuries. They are going to find the production they need, but I don’t know if it will come in this game. Guys like Justin Guterding and Colin Heacock can play at an insanely high level, so that is always a possibility. For my pick, I’m rocking with the Whipsnakes spread at -2.5. I think they are looking for more than just a one-goal win, and would like to assert their dominance. This will be the game for them to do just that.

The Pick: Whipsnakes spread (-2.5)

Those are my predictions for today's Sunday games. Stay tuned for another blog dropping soon with my predictions for next week. If you like my picks, or disagree with me, let me know on Twitter @t_hohenshelt. As always lets have ourselves a weekend and make some money, responsibly.
