Ryley’s Daily Basketball Pick - March 13th

The Portland Trail Blazers will be visiting the Atlanta Hawks at 7:30 ET tonight. The spread is a whopping 14 points- but one team has a major advantage.

Portland is coming into this game covering the spread in 1 out of their last 5, while the Hawks are 0 for 5 over their last 5 ATS. Considering the recent struggles the Trail Blazers have shown on the road, this is a great spot for Atlanta to get the wheels back on the bus. This season the Hawks are 18-16 at home ATS, compared to the Trail Blazers who are 10-21 on the road ATS. Portland has lost each of their last 4 away games by 14 points or more.

Portland is one of the worst teams in the NBA at defending from the three point line. This will be a major advantage for the Hawks tonight, currently ranked 3rd in the league in three point percentage. The Hawks are in the midst of a playoff push coming to the end of the season, and they know how important these games are. Expect them to feed off the home crowd- they won’t let their foot off the gas. My pick is the Hawks (-14) in a blowout.
