Ryley's Daily Basketball Pick: March 28TH

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trailblazers are definitely not the most intriguing teams to watch in the league. Most stars on both sides are injured, many of whom are done from the season. However, this game is still being played (tip is at 10 pm EST) and lines are still be adjusted for it.

Both these teams' overall records are very similar. Both are towards the bottom of the western conference but against the spread there’s a major difference. This season Oklahoma City is 45-25-4 against the spread ranking, second in the NBA at a rate of 65.3%. The Trail Blazers rank dead last this season against the spread going 21-45 which equals 39.7%. The Thunder have covered five out of their last five and seven out of their last ten. Portland has covered one of their last five and four out of their last ten.

Portland gives up 114.6 points per game, which puts them at 28th in the NBA. Coming off of just one day of rest, Oklahoma City is 27-13-4, which ranks first in the NBA at 67.5%. The Thunders rookie Tre Mann will be the X-factor in tonight’s game, stepping up as of late averaging 21.8 points while shooting 42.8% from three over his last five games. Oklahoma City has been a scrappy team against the spread on the road all season with a record of 26-11. The Trail Blazers have only won two games in the entire month of March. Oklahoma City has been a money machine this season and there is no reason to jump off the bandwagon here. My pick is OKC (-2)
