Ryley’s Daily Basketball Pick - March 20th

March Madness has not let us down so far, and day two of the round of 32 is underway. The Miami Hurricanes will be set to take on the Auburn Tigers at 7:45 PM ET.

Against the spread, Miami has an overall record of 17-14, while Auburn has an overall record of 19-11-1. Miami is an offense that hardly turns the ball over and gets 55% of their points off of two point field goals, which ranks them 26th nationally in two point field goal percentage. Ok the flip side, Auburn is led by Jabari Smith, a potential NBA first overall pick. Do not underestimate the Tigers center, Walker Kessler, who promises to be the X-factor in this matchup. Kessler is the nation's leading shot blocker- averaging 4.6 blocks per game. Auburn is first in the nation in block rate and ranked eighth in adjusted defensive effeciency. The size of Auburn will create problems on the glass for Miami. Auburn will have opportunities for second chance points with them being ranked 29th in offensive rebounds, while Miami is ranked 262nd in defensive rebounding percentage. While Miami does have a potent two point offensive attack, they will not be as efficient as usual with Auburns size on the perimeter making Miami’s possessions uncomfortable. Miami lacks the size to slow down Auburn on the offensive end. Auburn’s second chance points will make this a double digit victory for the Tigers. My Pick (Auburn -8)
