Ryley’s Daily Basketball Pick - March 15th

The NCAA Tournaments First Four matchup between the potential 12 seeds Wyoming and Indiana takes place at 9:10 ET. Theyre playing for a chance to make the round of 64.

Indiana is coming off a tough loss against Iowa in the Big Ten semifinals. Wyoming is also coming off a loss of their own to Boise State in the Mountain West semifinals. Indiana has size, and is built from the inside out, meaning their offense lives in the paint, but Wyoming also has the size to make things difficult for Indiana down low around the rim.

Indiana likes to play fast and modern, in contrast to Wyoming, a more traditional style team that plays a slower paced game. Indiana struggles from the free throw line averaging 67%, which could be an issue down the stretch. Indiana is a one dimensional team that depends on their frontcourt. Wyoming is a far more versatile team that will control the pace of the game, making Indiana uncomfortable. With Wyoming controlling the pace, it will limit the number of possessions for Indiana, which is why there is major value in taking the points. This will be a high energy defensive battle, so having any points down the stretch will be valuable, My pick is Wyoming +4.
