Ryley's Daily Basketball Pick: April 4th

The National Championship game is here, culminating the best month in sports. Under first year head coach Hubert Davis, The Unc Tarheels are set to take on the Kansas Jayhawks and Bill Self.

The Tarheels come into this game exceeding everyone’s expectations, arguably coming off one of their biggest wins in school history. The win over Duke in Coach K’s last game will be talked about until the end of time. Kansas looks poised coming into this game hitting over 50% from three in their win over Villanova.

The Tarheels big man Armando Bacot has a sprained ankle but is expected to play. With how aggressive David McCormick has been playing, this could result in foul trouble for Bacot resulting in a big mismatch in the paint. Kansas managed 56.4% of their points inside the perimeter, while Unc has allowed teams to shoot 47.6% from the field. Kansas holds teams around 30% from the three point line, while Unc ranks 312th in open three point rate. Look for Remy Martin to make a difference off the bench for Kansas.

Ochai Agbaji averaging 18 points throughout the season will be the xfactor in tonight's matchup. Unc rode the high on Saturday after beating Duke in the final four. Kansas has unfinished business here and I don’t see how they come up short. I expect Kansas to be a more motivated hungry team as the Unc Cinderella story ends. My pick Kansas Jayhawks -4.5
