Boston is coming into this game after an emotional win on Sunday night baseball against the Yankees. This is a prime letdown spot on short term rest for the Red Sox.

Michael Wacha is the projected starter for Boston, struggling on the road last season with an ERA of 5.61. The Tigers' Matt Manning will take the ball after finishing last season strong, giving up 11 runs over his final five starts. I believe Manning has a slight advantage over Wacha. The Detroit lineup is familiar with Wacha in 63 plate appearances posting a .252 average, while nobody on Boston has had a plate appearance versus Manning.
