Rock Mountain High: Week 7 Saturday PLL Predictions

The boys got back underway Friday night, after the All-Star break, and the Atlas emerged victorious just as we said in yesterday’s blog. That win secured them a seat in the playoffs and the top spot in the league standings. The rest of the games kick off tonight and we got the money makin’ picks for you. Let’s dive in.

**All of the games for this weekend will be broadcast on Peacock**

7/30 7:15 PM ET Redwoods (-110) (-1.5) vs Archers (-110) (+1.5) (O/U 23.5)

This game might be the hardest I’ve had to pick this season. There are a lot of factors at play here. Ever since the Archers did a beer shower celebration after a regular season win, they have been on a losing streak. Now the Archers have what could be the best offense in the league. Nonetheless, some might say that showering in non-alcoholic IPAs could bring bad luck. The Redwoods, on the other hand, have shown a serious offense of promise as well as one of the best defenses in the league. However, they show that they are capable of runs, but are dependent on those runs presenting themselves. This game is going to be a battle of which offence can sustain their run the longest, and it will probably come down to whoever can get the momentum in the last minutes of the game. If you have been reading my blogs, I always try to say that in this league, when in doubt, hammer the over. But for the first time this season I’m going to make two picks for a game. These offenses are both incredibly good and I think that taking the over 23.5 goals is a possible lock. I am also going to run with the Archers spread at +1.5. I think that if you take one, or both of these picks, you will be in good shape. The thing that I know for certain, is that this is going to be a barn burner of a game.

The Pick: Archers +1.5, Over 23.5 Goals

7/30 10:00 PM ET Whipsnakes (-155) (-1.5) vs Waterdogs (+135) (+1.5) (O/U 24.5)

I know this game may be a little bit past some peoples’ bedtimes here on the East Coast, but this is definitely not a game to sleep on. The ‘Puddle Pups’ currently find themselves at third in the league standings with a record of 4-3 and a goal differential of +7. This puts them one spot above the defending champion Whipsnakes, who have a record of 4-2 and a goal differential of -7. I say that this game may end up being closer than others might think and the betting lines definitely reflect that. The Whips have been looking a little down since Matt Rambo got hurt. My theory is that they could be saving themselves for a playoff run, similar to how an NBA team would. They still have plenty of talent to step up in his absence and it appears that they feel pretty confident in themselves. If there was an award for most improved team the Waterdogs would be a shoe in. They have found a serious groove offensively and their defense has been stifling to boot. On a fun note, Jake Marsh from Barstool‘s Pardon My Take will be on the call for both games tonight. I find that appropriate for the Waterdogs to be one of those games, as PFT and Big Cat own the team. Unfortunately I don’t think the power of PMT will be enough to lift the Pups past the Whips. The boys in red know that it is crunch time and they need to clinch a playoff spot. They will come out hot and get the job done tonight in Colorado. I also just find that not betting against the Whips is a good policy in the PLL. For this game I will be taking the Whipsnakes ML.

The Pick: Whipsnakes -155
