PLL Week 9 Picks and Predictions

The guys are taking their first trip out west. This week’s stop is Denver, Colorado. One game is already in the books with the Redwoods beating the Cannons. I am going to give my best picks for the Saturday triple header. Let's get these picks going for throwback jersey weekend!

8/6 11:30 AM EST Chrome -1.5 (-130) vs Chaos (+100) O/U 23.5

This game is kicking off at 9:30 AM local time so all I have to say is that it may take the boys a bit to get going. It is a lot for these guys to fly in for a weekend and get a day to adjust to the time and wake up to play a morning game is tough. I know that they are pros but they are also human. The reason I say this is because I am liking the Under in this one. These teams are a combined 7 for 12 for the Under when the total is set at 23.5 (PLT). I think that the scoring is going to be precise and calculated. I do not know how much these guys will be getting up and down, at least to start the game. If they put on a show and light up the scoreboard but I am riding with the trends here. I'm taking the Under.

The Pick: Under 23.5

8/6 2:00 PM EST Atlas -1.5 (-155) vs Waterdogs (+125) O/U 24.5

The Bulls have officially clinched themselves a spot in the playoffs. The Atlas defeated the Archers last week 14-9 in order to secure their playoff berth. Trevor Baptise being back in the lineup was a major factor as he went 16-25 from the dot. Jeff Teat had himself a day with a smooth 6 point outing (2G,4A). Eric Law and Dox Aitken also put up 4 points each. Like I said last week, Concannon is a better goalie than Ghitelman and he proved it by having 13 saves to Ghit’s 6. The Waterdogs got it done against the Cannons in a 15-14 thriller. There is not much to say other than sometimes the ball bounces your way in the end. The Waterdogs did not lead in face off wins or saves and still managed to win the game. I am still big on the Bulls even though they clinched. They cannot let up now because they can try to get the first seed if the Whips falter for any reason. I think that the Pups will keep it close so to play it safe I like the Atlas ML.

The Pick: Atlas -155

8/6 4:40 PM EST Whipsnakes -1.5 (-125) vs Archers (-105) O/U 23.5

I said it last week and I will say it again. The whipsnakes are such a methodical team and are super aware of the fact that they do not need to blow teams out. You only have to score one more goal than the other team in order to win and the Whipsnakes have done that in 4 of the 6 games that they have won. Since 2021 in Whips have covered as a 1.5 2 times out of 11 games. They are talented at conserving as much as possible during the regular season and doing just enough to get the job done. The name of the game is dictating the tempo. However, the Archers offense is one of the top two in the league along with the Atlas. The Whips are going to have their hands full and I do not know if they will be able to reign in the Archers. The Archers are also in the hunt for a playoff spot while the Whips have also already clinched. I really like the Archers +1.5 here. They have Grant Ament back in the lineup and they are going to get looks from all over the field. The whips have their ways of holding teams off just enough so I think that taking the Archers and the points is the play.

The Pick: Archers +1.5

Prop Corner

Logan Wisnauskas O 3.5 Points

Connor Kelly O 2.5 Points

Chris Gray O 3.5 Points

Will Manny O 3.5 Points
