Responsible Betting

I know in my past blog posts I have written up every game and given picks for every game. What I have realized is that some games I like better than others but I still pick every game just to get my picks out. So going forward I will no longer pick every single game I will only give out picks for games that I feel super confident in. I believe it will help me as a bettor and you guys as readers and bettors yourselves.

6/24 9:15 PM EST Chaos -1.5 (-155) vs Waterdogs (+155) O/U 23.5

The NLL season is finally over and Bandit land is back in full force with the Chaos. The Buffalo Bandits unfortunately came up short in the NLL finals but the good news is that the Chaos have their roster back in full strength. They return the likes of Josh Byrne and Dhane Smith to the roster. These two combined for 66 points last year. That’s a lot of production that they were missing out on. They lost last week but now they’re here to play. Last week the Waterdogs came up just short against Chrome. They held the lead at the end of the third quarter. The Chrome scored 7 to the Pup’s 3 in the 4th to seal it. Something tells me that the Chaos are going to have a lot of juice in this match up. Now that they are back at full strength I see them being hard to beat. I think that the Pups can hang with them though. They return All-World Goalie and NLL championship MVP back to the cage. The goalie play in this one should be high caliber with Blaze going up against Ward. I think the Chaos have an edge with their guys being back but I think the goalie play will keep It low. I’ll take the Chaos on the ML and lean under.

The Picks: Chaos -155, Lean Under 23.5

6/25 6:00 PM EST Chrome -1.5 (-185) vs Cannons (+150) O/U 24.5

The Chrome are coming into this game as one of the last 2 undefeated teams left in the league. They got it done last week against the Waterdogs to extend their record to 3-0 on the season. They once again lead the game in faceoff percentage as well as save percentage. Connor Farrell went 53% from the dot and Sconone had a 48% save percentage to the Waterdogs 35%. If your goalie and faceoff man can be better than the guys on the other team, you put yourself in a good spot to win the game and that is exactly what happened. Last week the Cannons got met with the full force of the Archers offense. They did not stand a chance as they lost 20-9. Lyle was back in the lineup for them but it did not seem to make a difference. Hopefully for them, they can find the mojo they had in the first game so they can be a bit more competitive. I have been a Chrome doubter for the majority of the season but they have finally turned me. They are looking super solid and if they are going to lose I do not see it happening against the Cannons. I am liking the Chrome spread here.

The Pick: Chrome -1.5

6/25 8:45 PM EST Atlas -1.5 (-120) vs Archers (-110) O/U 25.5

This has the potential to be the most exciting game of the season. We have two of the most high powered offenses we’ve ever seen in a showdown for the ages. The amount of offensive talent that will be on the field at one time is truly baffling. The Atlas came up short last week against the Whipsnakes. 12-9 is a respectable score when you consider the fact that they let in 3 two point goals. Their offense just did not keep up when they needed to. The Atlas are finally inserting Jake Carraway into their starting lineup and I think that will pay dividends. He had 21 points for the Bulls and was a deep shooting threat and a dominant dodger when he drew a short stick. I foresee some offensive fireworks in this one. The amount of potential is staggering. The goalie play for both of these teams has been shaky at times so that only yields more to a higher scoring match up. The Atlas also have the advantage of Trevor Baptise at the faceoff dot, he is currently facing off at a 70% clip and that will pay dividends down the stretch. I like the Atlas ML in a close one and I am leaning over even though it is high. I cannot take the under in a game like this.

The Picks: Atlas ML (-120), Lean Over 25.5

Prop Corner

Props for Lacrosse are back once again. They are only offering player point props at the moment. A player's points in lacrosse are their combined goals and assists for the game. If they have 2 goals and 1 assist, they have 3 points in the stat book.

Here’s what I am taking this weekend:

Matt Rambo O2.5 Points

Mac O’Keefe O1.5 Points

Chris Gray O3.5 Points

Those are my predictions for this weekend's games. Stay tuned for another blog dropping soon with my predictions for next time. If you like my picks, or disagree with me, let me know on Twitter @t_hohenshelt. As always lets have ourselves a weekend and make some money, responsibly.
