PLL Semifinal Picks and Predictions

Live from our nations’ capital, is the Semifinal round of the PLL playoffs. Only 4 teams are left to compete for the PLL Championship. The first game kicks off at 1 PM EST on Sunday. We’ve got some picks to give out so let us not waste any time!

**Odds provided by Draftkings Sportsbook**

1:00 PM EST Whipsnakes -1.5 (-165) vs Waterdogs (+135) O/U 24.5

This will now be the third meeting this season for these squads and I know they cannot wait. They currently each have a win over each other this season. I know the Whips are looking for revenge as the Waterdogs are the only team who has a victory over them this year. The Whips are not a fan of the Pups and they also are not a fan of covering the spread either. They have been 1.5 point favorites 8 times this season and have only covered in 3 of those games (PLT). Conversely the Waterdogs have been 1.5 point underdogs in 8 contests this year and have covered in 6 of them (PLT). I know the Whips are a different breed in the playoffs but I think the Waterdogs will make them work for it. The Whipsnakes also have this uncanny way of controlling pace of games even against fast paced offense such as the Pups. I know this will be one of the best games of the season without a doubt. I think because the Whips can dictate tempo so well this will be a lower scoring affair. I really like the Waterdogs +1.5 and Under 24.5.

The Picks: Waterdogs +1.5, Under 24.5

3:30 PM EST Archers -1.5 (-185) vs Chaos (+150) O/U 23.5

This is a game that could go in a lot of different directions. The Chaos proved last week that when it's playoff time they know how to turn it on. The Chaos only had two wins all season and yet they beat the number 2 seeded team 11-3. It always goes back to the 2020 bubble out in Utah where they did not win a single game in pool play then made it all the way to the championship. For some reason Andy Towers gets those boys to find another gear when the situation is win or go home. On the other side of the coin, the Archers historically have had great regular seasons and sputtered out in the playoffs. The Archers have covered 4 out of 7 as 1.5 goal favorites this season (PLT). My fear is taking the Archers and then the Chaos show up in a big way. Sometimes in betting on the PLL you have to ask yourself “how would you rather be wrong?” Personally, I would rather take the Chaos to cover. That is exactly what I will do.

The Pick: Chaos +1.5

Prop Corner

If you are new to these blogs, I appreciate your support but I'll clear one thing up. Points in lacrosse is a player’s combined goals and assists. So if a player has 2 goals and 1 assist in a game, they have 3 points in the stat sheet. Here are my prop plays for this weekend.

Connor Kelly O 2.5 Points (+125)

Kieran McArdle O 3.5 Points (-140)

Matt Rambo O 3.5 Points (-125)

Dhane Smith O 3.5 Points (+110)

Tom Schreiber O 3.5 Points (-115)
