Comeback: March 26th College Lacrosse Predictions

We are still here and we are still giving out our picks. We will not let one off week get in our way. This season has plenty of games left which means plenty of opportunities to have fun and make some money. Let’s Ride.

Hobart -1.5 vs Bryant O/U 27.5

This year has been the year that Hobart has made a name for themselves. I cannot remember a time where the school has been featured on the Twitter timeline so regularly. From a record perspective they do not look that convincing as they are currently sitting at 2-3. For this one you have to read between the lines. Two of the three losses were against ranked opponents in Cornell and Syracuse and they played both of those teams to the very end. Bryant is sitting at 3-4 and for a team that was getting a lot of preseason height they have, in my opinion, under-delivered. Bryant only has two players above double digit points on the season while Hobart has 5. A team that can get production from all over the field gets more love from me and then a 1-2 man show. I’m rolling with Hobart -1.5

The Pick: Hobart -1.5.

Stony Brook -2.5 vs Albany O/U 24.5

This may be bold to say, but I’m making this game my lock of the week. It’s a little upsetting but Albany is not a team they once were when they had the likes of the Thompson brothers on the team. The days of the Thompsons, Blaze Riorden, and Connor Fields are sadly over. The Dane train sits at a lousy 1-5. They are losing to teams that they would typically handle in prior years such as Siena, Drexel, and even UMass. The sea wolves on the other hand currently have a 5-3 record, with their three losses coming against Syracuse, Brown, and Rutgers, all of which are ranked. Stony Brook is currently on a 2 game win streak against Albany after losing the previous 10 meetings in a row. There is a power shift going on among the SUNY schools and I think that the Sea Wolves are out to dominate.

The Pick: Stony Brook -2.5

Brown -3.5 vs UMass O/U 25.5

This Brown lacrosse team reminds me of the Kansas City Chiefs. Solely for the fact that they love to win but do not like to cover. They were favored 1-5 against Vermont this year and only won by 1. UMass is 6-5 in the all time series between these two teams. Their most recent meeting was a 14-7 UMass victory. In the 5 wins that Brown has over UMass only 2 of them have been by 4 or more goals, the rest have been 1 goal finishes. I expect this to be a great contest, both teams can certainly play. But numbers do not lie and the numbers say to take the Minutemen plus the points.

The Pick: UMass +3.5.
