April 9th College Lacrosse Predictions
We know it is Masters week but we always believe in building your main event bank roll with other sports. I believe there’s no better option than some college lacrosse. We went 2-2 but we want better than even money so here we go.
** Odds provided by Draftkings Sportsbook**
UMass -1.5 vs Towson O/U 23.5
We start our picks off with a battle for CAA supremacy. These two teams are always in conversation to win the Colonial Athletic championship. Their games are typically tight and that is what I am hoping for. This season I am 2-0 picking unders for games and with this one I’m hoping to make it three. These teams have met 17 times since 2010 and only one time have they gone over a total of 24 goals scored. Umass is averaging 12 goals a game and giving up 10 goals to opponents. Towson is scoring about 10 goals a game and giving up 12 to opponents. The Tigers also average just 7.76 goals scored against the Minutemen over all their matchups. Given all of this information I will be taking the Under here.
The Pick: Under 23.5
Saint Joes -1.5 vs Bryant O/U 24.5
Now we turn our attention to the NEC. The Saint Joe’s Redhawks are having a great season so far, sitting at 8-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. I’m that 8-2 they have turned in wins against the likes of Penn State and Towson. Bryant is also 3-0 in the conference but sits at 5-4 overall. Saint Joe’s is averaging 14.3 goals a game while only giving up 10.3 to opponents. The Bulldogs are putting up 11.78 goals a game and that is why I am siding with the Redhawks. They also have the luxury of Zach Cole at the face off X who is currently winning at a 74% clip. A high powered offense and a hot face off guy allows them to play “make it take it” with teams. I am rocking with St. Joes and the points.
The Pick: Saint Joe’s -1.5
Princeton -3.5 vs Boston U O/U 26.5
If there is one thing that these two teams have in common it is the ability to find the back of the net in large amounts. I expect that to happen once again this weekend. Both teams have had 20+ goal outings during this season and have also given up 20+ goal outings to their opponents. According to Princeton’s media page these teams average a combined 31.44 goals per game. I don't believe that this one requires much thinking. These teams can score from all over the field and in exciting ways. I like the Over here.
The Pick: Over 26.5
Those are my predictions for this weekend's games. Stay tuned for another blog dropping soon with my predictions for next time. If you like my picks, or disagree with me, let me know on Twitter @t_hohenshelt. As always lets have ourselves a weekend and make some money, responsibly.
