April 30th College Lacrosse Predictions

The regular season is finishing up and May Madness is almost here. Last week we went 4-2 with our rivalry week picks. We will not have that many picks this time around but we still plan to cash those tickets!! Lets do it.

**Odds provided by Draft Kings sportsbook**

UMass -1.5 vs Drexel O/U 24.5

For some odd reason I feel like I have a decent read on the UMass Minutemen. I know that they have shown up a lot in my blogs this year but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. UMass has not had the most stellar season this year. They have been a good under team and a good team to fade against the spread. For some reason they just do not like to cover. Drexel is a team that loves one goal games. 6 of their 12 games have been decided by 1. So I feel like the easy pick in a game where one team doesn’t cover the other team likes one goal games is Drexel and the points, and that is exactly what we are going to do.

The Pick: Drexel +1.5

Vermont -1.5 vs Stony Brook O/U 23.5

This is officially Stony Brook‘s last game as a member of the America East conference. The most unfortunate part is that they won’t even get a shot in their conference championship. I have brought it up in previous blogs but the Seawolves are leaving the American East for the CAA and the AE decided to not let them play in postseason tournament. So this is the last chance for the seniors of Stony Brook to play and for me that emotional edge means a lot more than stats. But if you would like stats, Stony Brook is 20-4 straight up against Vermont all time. I will be taking the points just to be safe.

The Pick: Stony Brook +1.5

Yale -2.5 vs Harvard O/U 27.5

This is going to be my flier of the week. Harvard is coming into this game red hot We all know the Ivy league is chaotic and most likely going to have the most teams make the tournament. The Crimson took down #3 Princeton last week in a stunning turn of events. Yale has been dominant all year and is looking to finish strong. The all time series is 7-6 in favor of Yale. This week is the week of the dogs but unfortunately for Yale I’m not talking about bulldogs. The two most prestigious academic institutions will face off in a game with tournament implications. The reason this is my flier of the week is because Yale could roll Harvard, but coach Gerry Byrne has already shown what this team is capable of and they aren’t stopping now. 8 of their 13 matchups have been decided by 2 goals or less so I’m liking the Crimson to cover.

The Pick: Harvard +2.5

Those are my predictions for this weekend's games. Stay tuned for another blog dropping soon with my predictions for next time. If you like my picks, or disagree with me, let me know on Twitter @t_hohenshelt. As always lets have ourselves a weekend and make some money, responsibly.
