April 2nd College Lacrosse Predictions

It is the first weekend in April and conference play is afoot. We have had so much exciting lacrosse so far and things are just getting started. If the season is heating up then so should we, let’s do it.

Ohio State -2.5 vs Penn State O/U 25.5

I am making an official declaration that operation fade Penn State is back on. The Nittany Lions are struggling this year and last week against Maryland was the icing on the cake. They were +6.5 last week against Maryland and got rolled 18-7. Obviously Ohio State is not Maryland but they are still a good team and they are looking to get back on track after their loss to Rutgers. PSU has won the last 6 meetings in a row and I feel that this is the Buckeyes turn to win it. I will be taking them and the points.

The Pick: Ohio State -2.5

Virginia -4.5 vs Richmond O/U 26.5

This is one where there is not much to read into. The Cavs have been able to beat up on lesser teams in convincing fashion this season. The Spiders have never beaten UVA in any of their meetings. Virginia has separated themselves as a top team in the country and they always look for an opportunity to dominate. These two teams have played against on 7 occasions all time and UVA has won all of them, 4 of those being by 5 goals or more. I like the Cavs -4.5.

The Pick: UVA -4.5

Saint Joe’s -2.5 vs Hobart O/U 26.5

Last week I took Hobart and they burned me. I know they are a good team so I will give them one more chance. Saint Joe’s is also a good team and has been having a great season and I believe this game will turn into a good one. The reason I am giving Hobart a look is because of the numbers. 6 of their 11 total meetings have been one goal games. These teams play each other tight for whatever reason that may be, and since they both are on the up and up I have to take points where I can ge them. I am rolling with Hobart +2.5.

The Pick: Hobart +2.5

UMass -1.5 vs Delaware O/U 24.5

I save this one for last because this is my most interesting pic of the week. I am also entering it as my flyer of the week. This is only the second time now in the history of this blog that I will be taking the under. As we all know life is too short to bet the under unless you have the numbers to tell you otherwise and this is a big one so buckle up. The Minutemen and the Blue Hens have played each other 15 times since 1984 and they only went over 25 goals one time. There is obviously a grain of salt to be taken because of the increase in speed of the game, but even in the shot clock era they have not broken the 25 goal mark collectively. The reason I am making this my flier is because it is an under play and both teams could always light it up but the numbers are telling me to go with it. Call me the “Undertaker” for this weekend.

The Pick: Under 24.5
